School therapy.

I have worked with various local councils across the south of England for many years. I am fully aware that, due to cuts in local support services, children may not always receive the help they require.

Accessing support through external agencies can also result in long waiting lists, meaning children and families are often left unsupported. As a result, some may slip through the net, and their difficulties can escalate, leading to increased emotional and psychological challenges.

As a school or college, you can refer a child to IDS Therapy.

Initially, I will complete an assessment of the child’s history and current situation. This is usually carried out face-to-face or online with the parent or carer. Once the parent or carer has reviewed and agreed to ongoing support, sessions will take place during the school day.

Sessions are scheduled at a time that works for both the school and the child, with the aim of minimising time away from lessons. If a child is on a reduced timetable, sessions can be arranged to meet their individual needs. Sessions typically last 50 minutes, take place once a week, and are reviewed every 6–8 weeks.

With sufficient notice, I can attend Child in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) meetings when requested (as part of the support package). Consent is always obtained from the child regarding what information can be shared in these meetings.

A closure summary is provided at the end of the intervention. This includes data on sessions attended, key themes, observations, reflections, and recommendations.

Please note that I do not provide diagnoses for ADHD, ADD, ASC, or phobias.

Fees for this service are available on request.
